Handmaidens of the Signs

In this, we discover the Handmaidens of your story. In learning of the Handmaidens, you learn of yourself.Goddess, Frigga, has twelve Handmaidens, each one a Goddess in her own right. Though they are not exactly the same as the astrological sign I’ve associated with them, for the sake of finding story, they give an accurate picture.

Aries: Syn – the advocate – finds the SELF, the Person, Pesonality that is shown, the body -- ONE

Taurus: Fulla – the maiden who cares for Frigga’s treasure chest – Values and what we value and our finances are told about in the house of Fulla -- TWO

Gemini: Gna – the Messenger – our mindset, how we communicate, our siblings , our neighborhood and what is familiar and at hand -- THREE

Cancer: Var – who upholds Truth – the truth of our upbringing – mother issues (sometimes father issues), nurturing, our home, our childhood and old age -- FOUR

Leo: Lofn – who wants the authentic self to shine – and who advocates Freedom (especially in matters concerning love) – risk-taking, romance, offspring, creative endeavors, our re-creations (including children), gambling, play, theater, ego,-- FIVE

Virgo: Eir – the Healer – the workplace and health, health food, food issues that aren’t covered by Var and the fourth – meticulous attention to detail, service -- SIX

Libra: Sjofn – who inclines our hearts toward love and reconciliation – partnerships of all kinds, legal matters, the “other” -- SEVEN

Scorpio: Hlin – the consoler, acquainted with death and resurrection – hidden matters, other people’s energy or resources, inheritance, sex (also in the FIFTH), transformation, sorrow, intense relationships and second marriages. Occult knowledge. EIGHT

Sagittarius: Saga – the Storyteller – long distance travel, philosophy, religion, in-laws, laws, what is foreign to us, publishing, story, lore, myth, history, teaching, education, NINE

Capricorn: Gefjon – who makes her mark and brings her gift to the world. TEN

Acquarius: Snotra – Who is interested in academics, group dynamics and making sure we stay our authentic self while simultaneously finding where we fit among groups of others. She is said to create Frith among Kismen. ELEVEN

Pisces: Vor – the Seer. She sees beyond the veil – she knows without seeing – she sees far into otherworld, into dreams and visions. She is interested in the Universal (and sometimes can’t see the trees for the forest). TWELVE
