Now here is sixty

(borrowed a line from Granny Sue  http://grannysu.blogspot.com/ as a prompt, used it as a title:

NOW HERE IS SIXTY

Now here is sixty
come calling my name
from around a bend,
up ahead,
where yarrow grows
for dreaming,
Where bergamot simmers
among the fireflies,
where stones in the road
skip me back
to stubbed toes of ten,

Sixty beckons like a plump garden,
I have hopes by the armload,
grown ripe and full of promise,
Crone years and silver hair
say I've learned a thing or two
-- once or twice --
Sixty says, remember...

...the road goes forward.
