Wintermas, said one friend,
And lit the hearth with prayer,
Christmas, said another, and offered to share
A message from a mythnight
A story of old,
Solstice, said another,
Come in from winter's cold,
Light the seven candles,
Seal prayers in a log,
Or plug in dancing tree lights,
Sip scented eggnog,
Spare a thought of those alone
And wandering far,
Following the hope of
some midnight star,
Open your doors,
Your heart, and your home,
Bid the wandering welcome,
Let them know they're not alone,
Isn't that what the season
Holds at its midst?
Hail a jolly Santa laugh
Share a mistleto kiss,
Hannakuh, Kwanza,
The season of light,
Raise a toast to Childhood,
On a starlit winter's night.
Much Joy in the Season to One and All. Blessed Be!
