The names in the Graveyard

The graveyard on the homeplace is overgrown. We repurchased part of the homeplace this past spring and are trying to set things right. Though there are few markers, I found the names of most of the ones buried here. My Uncle Luther Hall (Mom's brother) is buried here and possibly Mom's sister, Esther, as well. They were both children when they died.

The names are:

The old woman, Golihue, was said to be a witch. She lived on Maple Street. She most likely was simply a misunderstood older woman, who lived alone and had poor social skills. Children were said to be afraid of her.Her appearance and mannerisms gave place to the myth that grew up around her.

She died well before my time, but I was told that her grave would sink no matter how many times it was filled. There is one sunken grave in the approximate location I remember as being the Golihue grave. The other graves are well filled, so much so, it is difficult to find the ones without markers.

I hope someday to place one tombstone listing all the surnames represented in this graveyard.
