We Three Sisters

We used to joke about it. Libby would say Ruth (Ginny) was slow, I was fast and she was half-fast. It is true that I move much quicker than is good for me -- patience is something I've learned and am learning, but I still finish everyone's sentences in my head. And it is true that when you go with Ruth to the the store for a pair of shoes, you need to take your suitcase and survival food, because you are going to be there a while. Plus, you will have stopped at every yard sale on the way.

She is so because she knows the ways of Saturn, has lived a life filled with limitations and hardships. She is a strong believer in saving  -- anything that might one day be needed. What is that saying... use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without. She knows how to do with nothing when nothing is what you've got.  Once she made an entire meal of only cornmeal (because that's all she had). She holds her sorrows close, too (Cancer sun/ Scorpio moon) and once she makes up her mind about something, she holds onto it with all her might.

So I am fast and Ruth Virginia is slow.

But Libby is definately not half-fast. She is just about right. She's the one who shows up when no one else does. She knows how to take her leave when that's needed, too. She says just enough good-byes to make them last until next time and then she's going down the road. She is right in the middle of any disagreement -- throwing her lot with peaceful solutions. (Almost always, but don't get her riled).

One of my earlier memories of her is when she was a young teen, reading beauty tips in magazines, walking with books on her head, so she learned the art of loveliness in walking. When we crossed the street down on Dyer Avenue, I just darted across. "Not like that," Libby said. "Like this..." and she sauntered across diagonally, with head held high and each foot lightly pointed away from center. (smile) She still has the loveliness walk and carries herself with pride and grace.

My Libra sister has Aries roots. She is pleasant, pretty, gentle, and gracious. But she has a fighting side. It is best not to get on that side. It's said a Libra will always look for a conflict. If you know any Libra folk, see if this is true of them. It may also be true of Libra ascendant. It's not that they are spoiling for a fight, it's that the Universe knows where its peacemakers are needed. Not saying Libras always fulfill their role, just saying they are often put into situations where that role is needed.

Each of us has Libra somewhere in our charts -- and in that place, we are also the conflict finder, the potential peace-maker. Aries, the I AM definies itself (sees itself) in Libra.

Hail to my lovely sister, Elizabeth, peace maker, venus-led.

And each of us has Cancer somewhere in our charts -- and in that place, we hold on to the past, nurture our truths, and protect our storehouse of habits, conditioning, and even past life trauma as well as skills.

Hail to my elder sister, Ginny Ruth, truth seeker, moon-led.

and me? I'm Sagittarius sun, Gemini rising and Aries moon. In our charts, where we seek story, philosophy and to know that which is foreign to us, there is Sagittarius found.

Hail to my own story this time around, too -- philosopher/seeker, Jupiter-led.
