(a year of) Small stones -- January 5

January, a field of snow, waiting for footsteps.
February, lace on crocus leaves.
March, windblown coltsfoot and maple sap.
April, dandelions seeking wine.
May, bare feet on river trails.
June, a coven of writers scribbling magic.
July, varied kinfolk steering clear of controversy.
August whirls memories of other state fairs.
September Saturn moves it's house.
October exaggerates orange exuberance.
November shivers the last of the leaves and shines a second summer.
December blossoms its trees with ice, its homes with solstice light.

The year unwinds, doesn't it? Looking forward to each season on the path.

Beautiful imagery, and I'm ready for bare feet on river trails ;-)
