CHICCHAN -- Serpent -- Awakens energy along the spine -- Teacher

Interested in the body/mind connection

Today, the weather goes back and forth between dark sky and sun bright -- sometimes both happen at once. This minute the blue, blue sky and the lamb-clouds that tumble through on the wind remind me of days when i was a kid. There would be snow on the ground and the air cold, cold, but the sun would shine and the lamb-clouds frolic.

Today lambs frolic at Imbolc. Imbolc, (pro-nounced im(b)olk with the b barely spoken -- sounds like in milk) supposedly means "in the belly". I have no idea.

This is one of seasons when we honor our feminine ancestors. Our lovely rite last night focused on the Disir. I made the staves sing -- Honey played the hand drum -- the words that came told us Mama is listening, she will move toward the cries of her children. There is need and Mama is moving to remedy those needs.

We honored Goddess. "All Mother, soft Speaker, Spindle-Weilder, you who spin the battle from afar,
You who know much and speak little, to thee do we give honor..."

We honored Earth.        "The Earth is our Mother... we will take care of her..." ( a song with the beat of the drum and staves.

We honored the Disir.

And then spontaneous song came back with the message of the energy of provision and blessings for the harvest of plenty.

To us, this is not a matter of a day -- but a tide. From late in January, (the eve of February) through the 14th, or eve of the 15th, this is the tide of the Disir.

Hail the Disir
